Our founders grew up enjoying the pastries and cakes from their hometown in Mexico.  They created La Monarca Bakery to bring the sweet flavor of Mexico to the U.S.   La Monarca’s products are made with top quality fresh ingredients, without preservatives or trans fats.  La Monarca Bakery has been recognized in Best of LA Weekly 2011, Best of Sunset  Magazine 2021, Best of Los Angeles Magazine 2013, and LA Times’ guide to Great LA Bakeries.


MX3030 Restaurante

This eclectic eatery located in Boyle Heights serves international eats with a focus on Latin American dishes that can be made vegetarian and vegan friendly. You’ll find crispy potato taquitos, vegan pazole, tofu saltado and pupusasa on the menu. They are just as delicious as the meat versions which are also available on the menu.

Hot and Cool Café

Hot + Cool Cafe, a Los Angeles County-certified social enterprise, is a local Black-owned and family-operated coffee shop in the heart of Leimert Park Village that opened in 2018. The Cafe is committed to making sure all their neighbors have access to healthy food, regardless of circumstance. Owners Tony Jolly and Tina Amin intentionally chose Leimert Park as the location for their vegan café in what has historically been a food desert for convenient, healthy food choices in South Central.

Founded in 2007, Southern Girl Desserts is co-owned by Catarah Coleman and Shoneji Robison, who combined their family recipes to create a Southern cupcake and dessert arsenal. Runway Boutique

Runway Boutique LA started fourteen years ago with the dreams and aspirations of Fatima Dodson. After growing up in fashion, Fatima wanted to create a space of her own to bring women together through a thick, connecting thread: fashion. RBLA is a blend of afrocentric, care-free, Brooklyn bohemian fashion-forward goodness. Not only is it a reflection of Fatima’s own personal style, but an amalgamation of the influences she was touched by growing up.  Runway Boutique’s carefully-crafted curation of style is dedicated to creating a safe environment for women to express themselves through their own sense of style. When you walk into Fatima’s shop, you’re greeted with a joyfully overwhelming sense of care, a meticulous eye for detail, and a playful spirit when it comes to wardrobe.


South LA Cafe

We started the South LA Cafe, because after decades of living in a food desert, we wanted fresh, affordable, and healthy food options for ourselves and our neighbors. Instead of waiting for it to arrive, we decided to take a leap of faith and provide it ourselves. We believed if we build it, they would come, and we are so grateful that you did! South LA Cafe is a community space to take pride in the history, legacy, and future of the South Central Community.


Alta Adams

Located in Los Angeles’ historic West Adams neighborhood, Alta Adams’ culinary vision is led by chefs Keith Corbin and Daniel Patterson. Alta Adams introduces a distinct interpretation of soul food that draws the connection between traditional West African food and California cuisine. The menu they created together fuses the Southern flavors and dishes Corbin grew up eating and preparing alongside his grandmother with a vibrant aesthetic and produce-driven approach.

An independent African American Bookstore that specializes in books, African American calendars, and African American gifts full of  cultural diversity.  Our selection of products has help create a positive impact on self reflection, self esteem, and self awareness.  We are dedicated to serving the interest of our customers.


Harold & Belles

The restaurant is now owned and operated by 3rd generation husband and wife team Ryan & Jessica Legaux. Together Ryan and Jessica have expanded the brand of  Harold & Belle’s through various avenues. These include their food trailer, Harold & Belle’s To Geaux, as well as the packaging of Harold & Belle’s Creole Seasoning. They have also completed construction on a new state of the art private dining room as well as a 60 seated/ 80 standing banquet room, The Peacock Lounge. Ryan and Jessica strive to create a special experience in the community recognizing the growth and changes to the Jefferson Park and Crenshaw Communities and doing their part to contribute.


Mr. Fries Man

Mr. Fries Man is a family-owned restaurant, part of a revolutionary underground foodie frenzy in Los Angeles. Serving Fries loaded with chicken, shrimp, chile, steak, and vegan options.
